From Big Consulting to SMB Success: Why I Founded Teclara Technologies

Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to deliver enterprise grade cloud and infrastructure solutions, cybersecurity, and governance initatives some of Canada’s largest and most respected organizations, including Enbridge Gas, lululemon, GreenShield Canada, Teck Resources, Parkland Fuels, TD Bank, EQ Bank, FSRA, Four Seasons Hotels, Parkland Fuel,  and Telus through my work at Deloitte, Accenture, and Slalom, with my most recent role as Principle Enterprise Architect at OMERS. Working with these industry leaders gave me invaluable insight into how top-tier companies leverage technology—not just to support their operations, but to protect their reputation, secure sensitive data, and drive business success.

But as I worked with these major enterprises, I saw a gap. Small and mid-sized Canadian businesses (SMBs) weren’t getting the same level of IT strategy, cybersecurity, and proactive support the big enterprises can afford and deliver. Too often, IT was treated as a reactive service rather than a strategic enabler of business growth and security.

That’s why I founded Teclara Technologies Inc.—to bring enterprise-grade IT strategy and security to SMBs across Canada. I believe that Canadian businesses deserve more than just basic IT support. They need a trusted partner who understands their industry, anticipates risks, and helps them use technology to operate efficiently, securely, and without disruption all while increasing their efficiency and revenues.

With my background in big consulting, I know what works—and what doesn’t—when it comes to IT for businesses that handle sensitive client data. Whether it’s protecting firms from cyber threats, preventing costly downtime, or ensuring compliance with industry regulations, my goal is to help Canadian SMBs operate with confidence, knowing their IT is a driver of success, not a liability.
