Teclara Technologies Inc. ("Teclara," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you visit our website at teclara.tech (the "Site"), use our services, or otherwise interact with us. It also describes your rights regarding your personal data and how to exercise them.

Our designated Privacy Officer is responsible for overseeing compliance with this policy. You may contact the Privacy Officer at any time using the details in Section 12 below.

We may collect, use, store, and transfer different kinds of personal data about you, which we have grouped as follows:

  • Identity Data includes first name, last name, username, or similar identifier.
  • Contact Data includes email address, telephone number, and business address.
  • Technical Data includes internet protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, device information, and other technology on the devices you use to access this Site.
  • Usage Data includes information about how you use our Site, including pages visited, links clicked, scroll depth, navigation patterns, and interaction with page elements.
  • Session Recording Data includes anonymized recordings of your interactions with the Site, such as mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling behavior. These recordings are used to understand how visitors use our Site and to improve user experience. Session recordings do not capture keystrokes in password fields or sensitive form inputs.
  • Communication Data includes information provided when you schedule meetings through our Site, download resources, or contact us, including your work email address and any details you provide during meeting bookings.

3. How We Collect Your Data

  • Direct interactions: When you schedule a meeting through our booking system, download a resource from our Site, or contact us via email.
  • Automated technologies: As you navigate our Site, we automatically collect Technical Data, Usage Data, and Session Recording Data through analytics tools and similar technologies (see Section 5).
  • Third-party sources: We may receive Technical Data from analytics providers and advertising networks.

4. How We Use Your Data

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to and for the purposes for which it was collected. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • To provide our services: Where we need to perform a contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you, including scheduling meetings and delivering requested resources.
  • For our legitimate interests: Where it is necessary for our legitimate business interests (such as improving our Site, understanding how visitors use our services, and marketing our services) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests.
  • To comply with legal obligations: Where we need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation.
  • With your consent: Where we have obtained your consent to process your personal data for a specific purpose, such as sending you marketing communications.

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including to satisfy any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

To determine the appropriate retention period, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure, the purposes for which we process the data, and applicable legal requirements.

When personal data is no longer needed, we will securely delete or anonymize it.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy legislation, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • Right of access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right of correction: You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to withdraw consent: Where we rely on your consent to process your personal data, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
  • Right to complain: You have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe your privacy rights have been violated.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact our Privacy Officer using the details in Section 12. We will respond to your request within 30 days, as required by PIPEDA.

10. Data Security

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered, or disclosed. These measures include encryption of data in transit, access controls, rate limiting, and monitoring for unauthorized access attempts.

We limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors, and other third parties who have a business need to know. They are subject to a duty of confidentiality and are required to process personal data only in accordance with our instructions.

In the event of a data breach that poses a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by PIPEDA's breach notification requirements.

11. Children's Privacy

Our Site and services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
