Security across everyday AI use.
AI use includes more than chat. Uploaded documents, desktop assistants and agents connected to business systems each introduce different ways for information to be shared or changed.
Teclara manages visibility and controls across supported AI tools, from application access to sensitive-data handling and agent permissions.
AI security coverage
Controls address the AI applications in use, the information shared with them and the actions connected agents can perform.
- AI application discovery
- Discovery identifies approved and unapproved AI tools across supported browsers, desktop applications and developer environments.
- Sensitive-data protection
- Rules detect or restrict sensitive information in supported prompts, uploads and pasted text. Available actions include recording activity, requesting confirmation, blocking sharing and redacting text. Actions vary by interaction; file contents cannot be redacted.
- Application and account access
- Access rules allow approved AI applications and restrict others. Supported services can distinguish company-managed accounts from personal accounts.
- AI agent permissions
- Controls govern supported agent tools and operations, including changes or deletions through Model Context Protocol (MCP) connections. MCP connects AI assistants to external tools and business systems.
Deployment and ongoing management
Deployment begins with visibility into existing AI use. Restrictions follow a limited rollout to check their effect on normal business activity.
- Initial assessment
- The initial assessment identifies AI applications, sensitive-data risks and available controls. Required browser and device components enable monitoring across the selected systems. Monitoring-only rules record activity without blocking it.
- Controlled rollout
- Controls are tested with a limited group before wider deployment. Testing checks for unnecessary blocks, confirms exceptions and establishes how staff can request help.
- Ongoing management
- Teclara reviews policy events and changes in AI use, updates controls within the service scope, and maintains records of coverage, exceptions and decisions.
Coverage and service scope
Available protections depend on the application, device and integration. Coverage and limitations are confirmed before deployment.
Applications, devices and connections
Coverage requires the appropriate components on supported devices and any relevant integrations. Application discovery and activity feeds do not automatically provide live blocking. The service scope identifies monitoring-only connections and coverage gaps.
Privacy and access to activity records
AI activity records can contain sensitive information. Collection settings, access permissions, retention, processing locations and staff communications are agreed before monitoring begins.
Scope and pricing
AI Security is scoped separately, either on its own or alongside Managed Security & Compliance. The proposal defines licensing, covered users and systems, deployment work, ongoing review and response responsibilities. It is not automatically included in another service.
Assessments and private deployments
A standalone discovery review identifies AI tools in use and areas of risk without an ongoing management commitment.
AI discovery and risk reviewAI systems hosted in a separate private environment are available for discussion as bespoke projects.
Private deployment enquiriesService questions
Does AI Security require blocking all AI tools?
No. Policies can allow approved applications and accounts while restricting specific tools, sensitive information or agent actions. The available controls depend on the application and integration.
Which applications are covered?
Coverage can include supported browser applications, desktop assistants, developer tools and agent connections. Compatibility and required components are confirmed before deployment. Some integrations provide visibility without live blocking.
What are the limits of data protection?
Protection depends on the supported application, deployed components and configured rules. Monitoring-only rules record activity without blocking it, and file contents cannot be redacted. Coverage gaps remain part of the risk assessment; the service does not guarantee prevention of every data leak.
Is AI Security included in Managed Security & Compliance?
AI Security is scoped separately and is available on its own or alongside managed security. Licensing, deployment, ongoing review and response responsibilities are defined in the proposal.
Does the service certify compliance?
No. Controls and activity records can support compliance reviews, but do not replace legal obligations, contractual commitments or an independent assessment.
AI Security enquiries
An introductory call covers current AI use, data protection requirements and the scope of a possible engagement.
